Elsa Alvarado
Elsa Alvarado
Assistant Athletic Director of Football Operations
How many years have you been at CDO? "I have been at CDO for five years"
What do you enjoy most about working there? "I enjoy watching the students grow into amazing athletes even after they graduate. It's amazing to see how much they grow and develop their skills."
What makes you want to help CDO Football as much as you do? "I love helping all the sports - football is my favorite time of year. I love how the kids, parents, coaches and Mr. Dominguez all come together to make sure the teams have what they need to be successful."
What are some of the extra jobs that you do to help the school and the football program? "Extra jobs would be setting up our teams' transportation, not only for the teams but for teachers and field trips."
Did you have any playing experience? "Playing experience in football? No, lol but I wish we had flag football when I was in school. Definitely would’ve joined. I did play sports growing up and played Basketball in high school."
Is there anything you want us to know about your family? "Of my family, I am the oldest of three. I have 8 nieces and nephews who I love to spend time with. They keep me busy with Marching band, Soccer games and any other events they have going on. I tried to be there for them as much as I can."
From Coach McKee:
"Elsa is the perfect example for all players and coaches. She is completely unselfish, compassionate, and detailed in everything she does. No one can out work her. She is the gatekeeper of the football program. She keeps us on time, on schedule and in compliance. Elsa shines every day, even in the most difficult situations, you will never see her, lose her positiveness or approach. She always finds a way to use it as a teaching lesson and to help guide our future success. We are fortunate here to have great administrative support, but CDO football does not exist without the hard work of Ms Elsa. Her Gameday experience is extraordinary and each person that I come into contact with. All have positive compliments about Elsa and how well they felt welcomed. We are extremely happy to have Elsa part of the Football family!!! I can’t thank her enough for all that she does every day."

A bit of Info about Coach:
"Coach Jody Basye has been a high school coach since 1991 and has coached baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, and football. In spring of 2009, he accepted an assistant coach position with the football program and has been a part of the CDO Football Program ever since. Jody has experience as a speed and strength conditioning coach with pro athletes in the USA, Europe, and Asia. Coach Basye believes that every athlete is capable of creating his/her own future through hard work, dedication, proper body mechanics, and their willingness to be coached and drive to get better every day."
Tell us about your family:
"I'm married to an amazing woman, mother, partner, and love of my life-Jenny Basye. Daughter Haley, played softball at Embry Riddle. She has the school career Home Run Record and is a year away from making a career goal she set for her-self in 7th grade in the job she is dedicated to. Daughter Nikki, is now going to John Brown University on a Track and Academic scholarship and she is entering her Junior Year."
Personal Statement:
"On May 4th, 2022, I had TBI from a trauma to the carotid artery. I experienced the symptoms of a stroke and was hospitalized for two months, learning to walk again and use the right side of my body. My recovery has taken every moment sense but every week I get better and stronger, closer to the person I was before, and hope and pray to be again."
From Coach McKee:
Coach Jody Basye is the standard of excellence at CDO. He has tremendous pride in detail and everything he does on campus. He’s a leader as a teacher and an outstanding football coach that has unique techniques to help our kids excel. He's a stickler for details and he adds a hard tough edge to our team. Jody pushes our players and coaches to be their best daily. He’s outstanding at his craft and he’s a wonderful human being. I am personally driven by how hard he works in his rehabilitation and on the field. Everything Coach Basye touches turns the gold. He has an outstanding family and he’s been a tremendous mentor to me daily. I look forward to working with Jody for a long time. He’s a man I truly appreciate and trust. A friend for life."
